Fiddlers Program

Dear Parents,

Local financial & volunteer support has led to a great opportunity for our students.  We offer a fiddle program to those students who show a committed effort and dedication to learning.  There are only a few seats available so we will evaluate all applications in hopes of selecting the top candidates. 

We will plan to have some field trips and pizza parties, etc. which may not be covered by the program.  There will also be a responsibility to care for the equipment that is to be checked out to the students.  Our objective is not to dissuade or exclude anyone for financial reasons but to remind everyone involved that there is an expected level of responsibility of the students and parents to their equipment and the program.

Our expectation is that the parents be as committed to assisting their student and the program as the student likewise must show a commitment to learn.  Without this commitment from both directions the program will not work and the student will not learn.  Students will be expected to work through their exercises for 30 minutes every day.  Students will be expected to attend and focus at weekly practices.  School attendance policies will apply to the weekly practice.  Students will be expected to maintain a folder with our program information and bring it to class each week.  Parents have to be committed to assisting and rewarding the students - this is a great opportunity to become directly involved with your child’s development.  Parents are encouraged to observe practices.

Learning to play the fiddle is difficult and sometimes stressful to the student.  The rewards are even greater though and this challenge will further impose a determined and focused work ethic that will appear in all areas throughout the students life.

We will have a great time and ready ourselves to return to the community what the community has offered us.  Good Luck.
