Fiddlers Storm the Capitol!

WOW! The Trading Post Fiddlers had the great privilege of meeting with the Governor of Oklahoma, Mr. Brad Henry as well as our Lt. Governor, Jeri Askins, State Senator, Mrs. Mary Easley and our Representative, Mr. Ben Sherrer. We even ran into former Rep., Mr. Larry Rice working hard for education. All this excitement was iceing on the cake after performing in the Rotunda of the Capitol building for the A+ School Assembly. It really felt like the State Capitol Bulding belonged to us that day as we played some of Oklahoma's favorite cultural tunes such as pioneer fav Boil 'em Cabbage/Rubber Dolly & Western Swing's Red Wing. The sound resonated throughout the capital building reaching as far as the House and Senate Chambers and just about every floor (fortuneately they were already finished for the day). The performance culminated to a reminiscent rendition of the State Fiddle Song - Faded Love made famous live on air at KVOO in Tulsa by the Wills brothers. Perhaps you will once again hear the Trading Post Fiddlers at the Capitol building when Oklahoma celebrates its 100th year of statehood. full story... OKC Press Release...

Live on KTUL!

Roosevelt Fiddlers Braved the snow and cold to perform live on Tulsa's legendary KTUL in order to promote the 2006 Mayes County Fiddlin' for Funds Academic Foundation Fundraiser. What a great gig this was to meet D.C. Roberts and the crew of the morning show EVERYONE in Tulsa watches. Of course, when we got down to business, it was the classic Bob Wills smash hit and the Oklahoma State Fiddle Tune "Faded Love". The fiddlers did great - and along with our wonderful guitar accompanist mastered that Oklahoma sound to perfection. The fundraising event was a success as well, raising thousands of worthy dollars for the pursuit of a better education in Mayes County.
